Excel read only

rrc1966

Lurker
I have a couple of Excel files on my Galaxy S9. I open them up, manipulate a few cells, then close it. I wanted to have it so that whatever I did while I had it open doesn't save, so I went into both files and turned off the autosave. Now when I open those files, they open as "read only" files, and of course I can't manipulate them. How do I make it so they open normally as opposed to "read only"?

TIA

Firstly reverse what you did to see if it resolves the issue. Secondly it could be that the app believes the documents are already open and defaulting to read only. Try force closing the app and clearing the cache to see if this resolves the issue.

Thanks for your response. I did reverse the autosave setting back to it's default. no change. I have done the "force stop" on the app, and it hasn't worked either.
i have also tried re-booting my phone after the force stop, no change
