Excessive things in google calendar

pranaman

Lurker
I am working with a woman and her husband, trying to sync their calendars so they can each see what the other has going on.

He has a Galaxy Note and uses google calendar.

I got their google calendars to sync, however, when I look at the Google Calendar app settings, he has a lot going on, more than I think should be there:

https://s17.postimg.org/88rxh9sxr/galaxy_note.jpg

which I'll list the beginnings of here as well:

[his email@gmail.com]
□ events
□ reminders
□ [wife's email@gmail.com]

My Calendar
□ My Calendar

[his email@gmail.com]
□ Samsung Calendar

More
□ Birthdays
...

Seems like it's way too much. Can anyone tell from the screenshot if that's correct? If so, how can I trim it down?

Hello and welcome @pranaman !
I've moved your thread to the Android Applications forum, as the Note forum seemed kinda dead.
You should be able to get more exposure here:)

Edit: oh, your issue, sorry. Can you just "un"-check those boxes? That should clean it up a little.?

Edit again---or, go into the settings and uncheck the calendars in the list

What seems to work best, is to turn off the internal phone calendars and only use a Google calendar and then connect each of the phones to that one calendar.

Then set a special background color for each of them....

blue for the guy?

Pink for the lady?

at one quick glance, just with the colors alone without having to read what the events are, each can tell if that one day is clear for the both of them to schedule a private outing.

I had all kinds of problems trying to make calendars sync up, until I just abandoned everything except for the Google calendar. that fixed everything.

I just let the title of each entry tell what is going on, I don't use groups like "Events", etc....
