Exchange Activesync rules & alerts?

At work we had been using the Touchdown program for email. That program let me create rules with if statements and things to alert based on the contents of the message and things like that.

We have now changed over to using Activesync with the default built-in email app on the phone which doesn't appears to support any rules or anything. The only thing I found was the Preferred Sender list which will at least help a bit but not a whole lot.

Is there any way to make more advanced rules in this program? Are there other programs that can link into the default app to do more advanced rules & alerts?

Thanks for any info.

Touchdown isn't an email program, it's an attempt (a pretty good one) to duplicate Exchange on a phone. That includes programming capabilities. Email programs lack all of that.

Tasker might be one way to get around it, but it won't be a trivial task. You'll have to devote time to learning tasker, then figuring out exactly what you want the task to do. If you use K9 Email (there may be 3rd party plugins for other email apps), you can trigger on a received email and if it's from a particular party, take a particular action.

Not Touchdown, but maybe workable for your needs.
