Experience Flashing Galaxy S6 Stock Rom

My phone currently will not boot, cannot enter recovery and I can only access Odin. From my research so far I've been getting fairly mixed results as to whether flashing the stock s6 rom will erase my photos (which is what Im trying to recover).

I'm considering flashing now but I was wondering if any of you have had experience with flashing the samsung galaxy s6 using a stock rom via Odin and whether it deleted your photos from your gallery.

Depends. It can be done in some cases but it depends. Hard to say without a model number to be able to check the firmware.

If it helps as well G920W8VLU2AOG2 is the software version listed on the box and the one which Im thinking of flashing (even though Ive upgraded since then)

You do know if you flash firmware straight it will wipe the device like new right? Give me a hour or less to look.

If it helps well bless my soul, if not well at least i tried.

That's I initially thought, but apparently firmware is a different partition from data like photos. Things like app data and contacts are wiped for sure, just wondering bout those photos cuz from what I've read I've been getting people saying both things. Ima wait a bit till I flash, take your time1

Carrier branded device or? Install a app like the Sammobile app or device info and post screen shots.

Question did you try rooting the device and then this happened?
If so a firmware flash may or may not be needed.

No, I was just watching youtube one day and it turned off suddenly and has been like this since. I never did any android mods at all to my phone. I want to resort to a root because I've felt I've tried all else. The phone is not recognized at all unless in download mode, so I cant use many tools out there, and it wont boot into recovery. I tried flashing a new recovery recently (after it broke like this and I'd tried everything else) since it doesn't touch the other partitions, but that still hasn't allowed to me to access the recovery. I can't access the phone to install apps as it doesn't boot. It's freedom mobile (so GLW or global wind live).
