How do I make X-plore the main music player? How do I make it run in the background instead of taking over Firefox? How do I give it a playlist? There are apparently no real controls for this.

That's right, but it does include a music player. I think it's solved its own background problem. I still have to figure out the "empty playlist" thing, though.

The music player part of X-plore is very basic, and I don't think it can do playlists. It's primarily a file manager. You may want to look at using a dedicated music player app instead to play your tunes, one that offers much more functionality and features. I use Rocket Player myself.

It probably is pretty basic, but according to the instructions in the help file, it should be capable of handling playlists. I wonder if there's some way to do that. In the meantime, I at least got it to play music in the background by clicking individually on downloaded mp3s. Incidentally, about how many songs would a 32 GB SD card hold?

Thanks, that's a useful calculation. It'll probably take me a while before I get that many. What is that under your Santa hat?

Thanks, mikedt, I got rocket player and it seems to be pretty good. Now I just have to figure out how to make playlists. Do I create a new one and then check which songs I want?
