External Headphone Amps

I was responding in another thread and it occurred to me that there has not been a discussion (at least that I could find) about using external headphone amps / DAC's with android handsets. But, I'm curious, anybody else out there using an external, portable headphone amp? What are you using? What are your experiences with your gear?
