External SD card not getting detected in pcs

I am running android 4.2.1 jellybean and I have a rooted phone. Sometime back I was fiddling with unmount SD card option. I mounted it successfully and the option is still there and fine.

But I don't know after that what has happened. My android phone external sd card (sandisk 16 gb) is not getting detected by windws 7. It's not even getting detected on Ubuntu - linux. Kindly help what seems to be the problem. My internal sd card (which is inbuilt) is getting detected on both the operating systems.

However my android phone is detecting both the cards flawlessly and I can access all the apps, music, photos and videos. What is the problem?

Sounds like a driver problem on your PC.Find updated USB drivers and other system drivers.MS now have an online helper service but also I used this older standalone program on Win7,

msicuu2.exe

Which preceded their newer online service.

As always back up your system before making any changes.I've never trusted,"System Restore" and make disc image backups and use the free version EaseUS ToDo backup software(Saved my A** a few times) :)

HTH :)
