Extremely slow start

I've had this phone (S8+) for a couple of years now with zero issues until now. It takes about 10 minutes to start. I turn it on, the phone identifier shows up on the screen followed by the keypad to enter my PIN. After entering the PIN, the padlock icon shows up with the blue and green "buffering circle" spinning around it,which then freezes for approximately 5 minutes. The phone eventually goes black for a few seconds, then the padlock icon appears again, and the spinning circle around it freezes again. When that disappears after another 5 minutes I'm required to re-enter my PIN. The same padlock/spinning circle returns,but this time it usually turns on.

What gives with this?

Try booting into safe mode if your issue is resolved, chances are it an app. Also, check your device memory, if its full start by deleting un-used apps and backing up photos with Google or an alternative.
