Help facebook 1.7.1

anyone else getting force close errors with this?? my wife has the same phone and hers works great. when i go to apps, click on the icon, i get like a double flash on the screen, then if i click on checking or status it crashes. hers doesn't do the double flash launching and works fine. is there a app or way to cleanly remove the facebook app?? i have cleared cache, data, force stop, uninstall reinstall reboot, rub it and talk nice to it. nothing works. version 1.6.4 works for me.

any tips or info, this is my first android and i like it so far.

You could just use a different Facebook app, such as FriendCaster, Seesmic... I personally use Friendcaster, and I like it a lot.
