Facebook App/Facebook Touch

Aside from the obvious matter of the Android app not being as complete as the iPhone equivalent, I was wondering if anybody had experienced the following on both the app and Facebook Touch.

Updates seem fairly random on the live feed. Eg. I will scroll through some updates, but when I refresh, some updates appear which didn't appear originally. I am not referring to new posts or updates, but updates which are sandwiched between updates which were there previously.
I hope that makes sense?

I was just wondering if this was a common problem?

I've tried editing the options at the bottom of the feed on the full Facebook site to enable more updates be shown, but it doesn't seem to make a difference on the handset.

Cheers.

I have that problem with both the app on the phone and the actual website. I just thought it was something they did. So i just let it go, IDK.

I'm not sure how it works exactly for the app, but the News Feed as FB has set it up, is really a collectoin of status/photo/link/comments/wall posts from people in your feed that FB thinks is most 'news worthy' to you at that moment (I think based off of the 'like' feature). So, older status updates may appear on top of newer ones if a mutual friend made a comment on it. This is kind of neat, but it tends to hide from you posts from friends you might have little FB interaction with (like that girl you're stalking)

On the website, you can see a chronological listing off all posts from all friends by clicking on 'most recent'. Not sure if the fb app has that feature.

On a related note, I kind of like the concept of 'news feed', but always like to check the 'most recent' too. I hate on some programs, like tweetdeck for ipod touch, it ONLY shows you the full chronological feed

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad it's not just me. I prefer the chronological feed, but even then it seems to display whatever it likes - as if I refresh the page it occasionally throws in a few updates that it missed out previously.

Hopefully it will be sorted out eventually.....

I've found the same thing. But the mobile website is better than the touch version and has the option to toggle between the most recent posts and the 'top news'. I pretty much just use this version now as I find it better then the app or the touch site.

If all else fails just go to the persons page that you are wanting to see the updates for and they are in chronological order.

On the touch site, make sure the "live feed" tab is showing under the "home" button. Then the most recent info will always be at the top.

Why does our app continue to be ignored? Frustrating.

edit: actually, I've noticed on the actual Facebook website, the most recent news feed isn't updating properly either. Ugh.

It just seems to throw in updates as and when it remembers them.

Eg.

Mr A does this

Mr B does that

Mr C does this

Mrs D does that

Mrs X does this

Mr Z does this

Then when you refresh the page, you will notice some updates which should have, but didn't appear first time.

Eg.

Mr A does this

Mr B does that

Bob Smith did this

Mr C does this

Mrs D does that

Harry Jones says this

Mrs X does this

Mr Z does this

Hope all that makes sense! :D
