Facebook app keeps asking for password

I've had the Galaxy S3 for over a month now. No problems at all.

The last two days, the facebook app has been started to ask for my password repeatedly. This is rather getting annoying.

e.g My phone died from battery this evening and when I rebooted I got a notification "Facebook Authentication Failed"

Asides from the fact that it's asking for the password, all settings I had set in Facebook settings (e.g no notifications, do not sync etc), they're all gone.

Surprisingly the Messenger app works fine with no issues.

I tried uninstalling the app, clearing data and cache but to no avail.

Anyone solved this issue?

I'm in the UK, unbranded latest firmware (LG8, baseband LH1).

Thanks

I can't really be of much help, but I've experienced the exact same problem on my HTC Droid Incredible 4G. Because we have entirely different phones, different carriers (I'm on Verizon in the US), and the problem started around the same time, I feel like this has to be a problem with the Facebook app itself.

But if someone knows anything, I'd love to know it too!
