Facebook app will not update

For the last 2 weeks or so Google Play Store tells me that the Facebook app needs to be updated, but whenever I try to do this it downloads about 12% and then goes back to saying it needs to be updated again.
All other apps are updating fine.
I have tried deleting the cache on the Facebook app, and the Google Play Store app, but with no joy.
Can anyone offer any advice, please?

I don't have the option to uninstall Facebook. I have tried clearing the data and cache, but the uninstall option is not there.

Yes, I have. Several times. Some times it gets to about 12% of download, then goes back to having the Update option next to it, or sometimes it does the whole download and then says installing...before then going back to the update option again.

Note to self: Don't buy Samsung Galaxy S10.

App updated okay today, without me changing anything. Strange, but true.
