Facebook chat on Evo

Ever since they added Facebook chat into the Facebook app, I can't EVER stay offline. I always have kept my chat on offline mode, as I HATE FB chat. However, whenever I turn it offline on my Evo, it's fine until I log into FB on a desktop; then magically it's back on again. Is there any way to keep them both signed offline without having to manually turn it off each time I log into FB on a different device?

It's just how it works. Once you're logged into the chat on the Facebook app, it transfers to the browser as well.. thinking you're still logged in even though you logged off. If that makes any sense. I've noticed this because I'm the same way.. I hate hate hate the FB chat lol.

So no one has figured out how to keep the EVO signed out of FB chat? I hate it as well...and since I don't ever use it I open up chrome on my computer and find a bunch of dialogue boxes open where friends have tried to chat with me. Now they just think I'm ignoring them. haha. Any help in this area will be good...thanks.
