Facebook Contacts --> Android --> Gmail

Hi everyone,

I have a new Android phone and I LOVE the automatic syncing of facebook contacts (phone numbers, email addresses, pictures, status messages, etc.) into my Android contact list.

I'm looking for a way to make the same thing happen within Gmail. I was under the impression that Android contacts = Gmail contacts, however it appears that the facebook contacts are not included in this. Is there any way to make that happen? Ideally by some setting with Google and not through some third-party application that is semi-reliable now but could break the moment any change is made to facebook, android, or gmail.

Hope somebody has an answer. Thanks!

I don't have an answer, but the same question.

I don't need the two databases to sync, I just want a one-time copy from Facebook to Google Contacts.

Lots of threads on this. Facebook doesn't natively allow export of contact data from Facebook to import into another account.
