Help facebook notification delay

I recently switched to android phones HTC one x from iphone 4, and my concerns is the facebook notification. In IOS you get real-time updates from your account unlike in android i receive notification from 30mins to 2 hours.

i already reinstalled/updated the app which didn't help either.

is this the normal behavior of FB app for android?

I've never had much problems with it, but I know many others find the Facebook for Android app severely lacking. If you head to the FB settings menu, what's your notifications interval?

Alternatively, you could try Friendcaster, it's a pretty popular alternative.

I use Friendcaster Pro and the Android version that way I never miss a thing.

thanks guys, ill give friendcaster a try. i just had my first android phone and im still in the process of adapting to a new environment.

Push notification were working for me before i broke my phone and had a replacement. Now they only work for someone posting on my wall or commenting on my status, Close freinds notifications no longer work.
