Facebook notifications on cell

On my cell phone, I do have the Facebook notifications turned off yet I keep getting notifications on cell which I do not want. Perhaps I am going to the wrong area on my cell. Can anyone tell me how to stop this? TY

I go to "settings" then "accounts & sync". I have the "background data" NOT to sync. The "auto sync" is like greyed out but I see a check mark there. It only becomes white/active if I do turn on "background data".

Straight Talk phone. It is a LG L75C

On your phone open Facebook app. Then go to settings. Find notifications and disable.

Thank you. I have tried looking for that setting on my phone and guess I never hit the right little icon. Just yesterday I had to do a factory reset because of facebook. Long story, anyway, thanks again.
