Help Facebook Posting Issue for Galaxy S3

Is anyone else having issues posting a status to Facebook on their new Galaxy S3. I just got the phone, tried to send out a status, the screen goes white for a couple of seconds, then black and comes up with a message that Facebook has encountered a problems, would you like to send the report.

Please Help!!
 
I agree with italygrl1...definitely try uninstalling and re-installing - but send the report first just so the developers are aware of this issue. I had that problem one time and a re-install fixed it.
 
I tried the uninstall/reinstall but i'm still having the issue. I'm going to try uninstalling, rebooting and then reinstalling. I appreciate the suggestions... keep'em coming. Thanks again.
 
that will not work. i have tried everything including a factory reset on the phone and it is still not working. everything on my wifes phone works good. it is a bug in some of the phones, but not all. i am hoping samsung fixes this issue quickly as this is a major inconvienience

What provider are you with? I'm with T-Mobile and I'm having this issue.
 
The Facebook app will not let me post- I've tried reinstall the app and I've restore factory setting nothing seems to work. galaxy s3 your driving me mad.
 
Im glad its not just me! I have exactly the same issue. have installed and uninstalled facebook several times and i still cant use the app to update my statuses. Although I can reply to others and post photos. Im with orange.
 
While not an ideal solution, make sure you report the issues to the app developers, and for now you can just use the Facebook mobile website. It's really not all that different from the app, and I actually find myself using the mobile site more on my phone for various advantages it has over the app.
 
I tried everything also. My solution was to install chrome, put the browser shortcut in the trash and move the chrome shortcut to its place on the bottom. I have no problems posting now using chrome.
 
Hmmm.... After reading your post I gave it a go and found the fb app to much smoother on my GS3 then it's ever been on my previous phones.

I wish I had an answer for you.
 
I'm on Verizon and I noticed I've had at least 3 new versions of the facebook app in the last few weeks. make sure you are using the correct one. Also make sure your log in information is correct in accounts.

I've updated my status both from within the facebook app, and using the S-Voice and it's working here.
 
Confused, when you got the phone new, wasn't Facebook already installed? If yes, I say re-install it, and DON'T install any updates for it, then try to post...

If that works, then clearly an update to the app is causing the issue.
 
HI, Facebook wasnt installed, but i installed it practically straight away from play store. It did work for about a week, but then for no reason, it started crashing when i try and post status. Ive lost count of the number of times ive tried to re-install etc. Im sort of wishing i has got an iphone 4s now. (I use facebook a LOT!) oh well i shall grin and bear it!
 
I have the same problem. I tried posting a pic from my photo gallery and it gave me an error. I also uninstalled and re-installed the app and it didn't fix the issue. I am using the Friendcaster app now and that app seems better. I'm on Verizon.
 
There is a very capable Facebook app called Flipster. Those having issues might install it and give it a run. Has a nice ICS look and feel to it, and you can isolate the app vs phone question as to what is to blame.
 
Hi all i have the same issue with facebook but i believe i caused it....i was having problems with my s3 restarting freezing and juttering when i was in the facebook app that was already on the phone...this happened when i received a txt at the same time...i thought this was pathetic as its a quadcore phone with 2 front apps running. I took the original facebook app off and installed the one off of tge market....now i dont get notifications and it just force closes when i try to post a status....internet site works fine but i prefer using the app as its less power thirsty.
If anyone can help or tell me how to get the original fb app back please let me know.
On the verge of factory resetting

Edit: i also have my messaging icon showing (1) constantly but i have now deleted all my msgs. Goes away when i delete the shortcut then reapears when i get a text
 
I had the same problem. I found a setting that wasn't supposed to be and when I fixed it I was able to upload. Once you get the picture ready to upload and you're on the screen "Write Post" there a setting button on the lower right were you set who can see the post. I didn't have it set to everyone so I changed it so it IS now set to send to everyone and now it work.

Might not be the same problem as others but I thought I'd post it here in case it can help someone.

Hi my Samsung Galaxy 3 is suddenly not opening on my phone. I updated it recently and ever since every time I tap the Facebook app the screen suddenly goes black, then goes back to the apps screen. And I am also trying to find the Yates garden app to download but am unable to find it anywhere. I know it exists and can be downloaded to androids but it doesn't show up when I search for it. Can someone help me please?

Click the menu button on the lower left, then choose "settings", next scroll down to "application manager".

In there you can uninstall programs, but not the pre-installed ones.
 
Facebook won't post my location when I post from the S III even though the location shows up in the bottom right corner. When I post from iPhone 5 it does show my location.
