In order to get updates from Facebook, i have to exempt it (as well as twitter) from my app killer list... does leaving them running in the background use up data?
 
Good luck with the notifications though. It won't let you know when someone posts on your wall or comments on your status.

Your best bet is to set up Facebook gmail notifications through the website (or text notifications).

The Facebook for Android app is really lacking in this department.
 
actually, your best bet is to uninstall that task killer :D

I will however, concur that the FB app is bogus. And it's still light years ahead of the Blackberry one.
