Facebook question

Completley overwhelmed by my droid currently, having a hard time figuring things out

I set up facebook as a social networking thing, its only telling my phone when i get messages, not when someone comments on a status, or letting me know any other notifcations, how do i change this?

As far as I know, you cant, the facebook for andriod sucks
