Yep, you can now get your twitter, youtube, amazon, and facebook accounts hacked from an android app using a pretty simple method.
So let we talk about what is needed to stop this from happening. The best way I can think of, at 12:00 am, is to force those websites to use https for all your connections.

When you are on an unprotected network, when using a trusted network, you can probably disable the add on, but it is best to be safe then sorry.
