Facory reset by itself?

I turned my HTC Vivid on and now everything is messed up. All of my pictures / videos are gone, most of my apps are uninstalled, every single song I had is deleted , and my personal customizations are all back to how they were when I got the phone. Again my phone is the HTC vivid and my carrier is AT&T.

I have heard that carriers can push a factory reset under some circumstances, but they should always need a customers' approval.

I recommend calling AT&T and checking.


Also an update may have bugged your phone, uncommon though.



To diagnose this any further we would need a lot more info, have you made any changes to your phone recently?
