My son owns a Tracfone Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro 5. After electing to reboot this phone to the factory default he needed to enter the account and password information to get past the factory reset protection. Alas he could not recall that. Accordingly, we used an email account that was associated with this phone and created a new password. After entering that new information we were advised that we needed to wait 24 hours because he had created a new password.
Unfortunately, despite waiting 24 hours with the phone charging but otherwise completely shut off, we still cannot get into the phone because we needed to wait 24 hours. We've done this through several 24 hour cycles.
I have read that some phones that used Lollipop required a 72 hour wait period. But the specs for this phone state that it runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system so based on my limited research I don't understand why we are still locked out after waiting 24 hours with no phone activity.
I've looked on Youtube, searched the web and contacted the carrier but so far no luck.
Any suggestions?
THANK YOU!
