fanboyism...

That's totally bogus, dude. MY rationalization is so much better than this armchair fortune teller.

;)

Ha, makes my signature all the more true.

Apple advertising, for instance, doesn’t mention how good their computers are. Instead, they give you examples of the sort of people who purchase those computers. The idea is to encourage you to say, “Yeah, I’m not some stuffy, conservative nerd. I have taste and talent and took art classes in college.”

I love how there are loads of people in the comments taking it personally, and their justification for it being a bullshit article is because they have owned more than one brand.

Good article.

guilty, i've been the loud typing doush... even clicked the mouse button extra hard, and sat back with great authority in my chair "TAKE THAT!!!" and regret it like a barfight every time. "why did i do that?"

now i feel very insecure and am going to buy a boat.

Thanks, it was an eye-opener for me too. Should help me from getting into arguments about that OTHER;) phone, lol.

It makes a lot of sense.
I used to have an iPhone.. it was only for a few months but I had one.
When fanboys approach me and give me crap about my Nexus and find out that I had an iPhone it makes it all more interesting that I ditched their beloved phone for another.

They usually dispute the fact that I had one and stop short of calling me a liar.
Then I produce the phone out of my bag and the shock and awe hits them...
What they don't get is that people that have used both can point out the flaws in the 2 devices/platforms without doing a Google search.
Your fanboy will no doubt have done many Google searches to find these flaws just to have ammunition.

Their entire universe floats around the idea that they are one of the few that made the 'right choice'
It's as if they are going to be beamed into Steve Jobs Heaven for doing so but don't realize that if there was such a thing as iHeaven they would be getting a bill for it, too.

Or be relegated to 'hell' (Android)

I used to poke fun at them... but I learned that like all humans they do make mistakes.
Their mistake is not that they did not buy an Android device (despite them thinking YOUR mistake is not buying an iDevice) but that they are just following the crowd at lunchtime.

The more amusing ones of late have been touting Apple's 'stellar' quarter.
For Apple, selling more than a million of their computers is 'stellar' while that's like a daily thing for HP or Dell.. or Microsoft selling copies of Windows.

When you feed them that.. like I did yesterday the response is hilarious.
It's almost mot newsworthy that they sold x computers which is like 1/10th of what everyone else sells in the same timeframe.

Friends don't let friends become fanboys...
