Fatality: 2017 edition

I am not a fan of good ol' Mariah but feel bad for her. Serious technical difficulties beyond her control. She couldn't hear anything at all. I watched the video (because I wanted a giggle) but just ended up thinking she got screwed by the sound guys and the network. They should have cut away instead of leaving her out to dry like that. I actually thought she sort of handled it pretty well, all things considered. She didn't throw a hissy and stomp off, I'll give her that at least. It wasn't supposed to be a lip-sync, she was supposed to be singing and couldn't hear a darn thing. She'll get over it but it could have been handled better by the network.

Here's to hoping rap will bite the bullet, making twenty seventeen the most splendiferous, absotively wonderific years in recent memory, if not the best ever.

I'm gonna take a collection and get Eminem to perform at your next birthday party. [emoji12]

I'd rather be wide awake for a colonoscopy with a fire hose then listen to that.

But that doesn't lessen the sentiment. Does it?

^^^ I have to agree. She made the best of a bad situation, including that body suit.

We've all seen celebs (and political leaders) behave much worse.

Yup, all in all, a pretty disastrous performance. Obviously had sound problems, so I guess she did the best she could under the circumstances.

I really can't fault Mariah if the reports are true that the sound guys messed up and she couldn't hear anything. With cues, I'd be lost up there, too. I think, though, I wouldn't have tried to stammer through it: I would have stopped everything, gotten the sound guys hot fixing whatever was broken, and then given the audience what they came to see. Stammering around the stage clueless just made her look worse.

Tilikum, the trainer-killing Orca prominently featured in the documentary Blackfish has died at 36.

Mariah.. is entertaining to watch her flop about... trying to be young and sexy.
it is what it is.... harmless noise

rap music.. some are good... even great and enjoyable.
some are just ... bad noise.
