Root Faulty incoming mail alarm -> Bug, feature, or ROM problem?

Hello everybody,

I noticed this morning that when I already have a new mail notice in the taskbar, all subsequent incoming emails do not activate the alarm (sound+vibration).

Is this normal behaviour? if not, I am running the latest Cyanogen ROM (installed two days ago), can someone using a stock ROM or any other ROM confirm that they also have this problem? I would like to know if this is a problem only on my phone, with Cyanogen's ROM or with Android.

BTW, I have Roger's Magic, if it makes a difference.

Ok, to answer part of my own question, this is not a ROM problem, since I flashed Ho-Fo's ROM last night, and I have the same "problem" this morning.

This looks like an android shortcoming.

Anyone else finds this annoying? Anyone knows of a solution?
