Is it possible to get the facebook app without the messenger?

Yes, they are separate apps now.

The only downside is that Facebook will constantly ask you to install messanger.
Best scenario is to access Facebook from your browser and keep both memory hogs off your phone.

Less intensive than the real facebook and messenger apps and it will still notify you of and allow you to reply to normal FB messages.

There are also lite versions of both apps which is long overdue w/the bloated mess of the original full versions.

First let me say sorry for my bad English 😊 and thanks for all the answers.

I have an Samsung S7. I tried the facebook from the browser, but it didn't run so good, and had problem with the notification.
It feel like the facebook and messenger app is using to much battery. I heard that I can get a modded Facebook app without the messenger, that don't use so much battery as the original app, but I cant find it.
