hey guys.
So basically ive been beating my comp to death for the last couple hours dealing with this adorable little FBI Moneypak virus. (popped up out of nowhere, possibly from a fake windows/itunes or flash update) I run NoScript so usually dont have this junk happen, but it happened.
i did a couple restores and ran hitman on on, so far it has stopped, but might crop back up.
During my researching how to dump the dumb thing, I came across someone having the same problem on their tablet

fortunately, it seems like android versions only lock up the default browser, so its not that bad.
however on Windows and MaxOS, it is a friggin nightmare. uses flash to lock up your whole comp and you cant do anything. wasted a good couple hours like I said.
a Giant full screen pops up saying somehting like "FBI has blocked your computer for viewing Zoo porn" or something similar. a few versions say DOJ, or ICE or even local american sheriffs offices. the offenses can vary from pron to music and movie violations.
The first tipoff should be that, the FBI would kick your door in with a swat team at 5am, not warn you first. The second would be that it tells you to go buy a MoneyPak for $300 to pay your fine and youll be ok. Again, first comes the SWAT, then comes the Court, then comes fines. and then there is a bunch of obvious typos from the foreign writers of this virus.
Just thought I would put that out there without the average "OMG ANDROID HAS VIRSUS!!!" style hyped up alerts.
anything can get caught up in this it seems, but android to a much less annoying degree.
