Fcc green lights tmobile buying some spectrum

The 1st markets that should get this new spectrum are Dallas, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

The other markets have to wait till the TV stations using the spectrum is cleared or they do some sort of repacking.

Knowing how Neville Ray (CTO) goes they probably already have tower equipment for this rolling out with the Band 12 part of the antenna deactivated it's just a matter of getting devices that support it.
Then for future reference the only 700MHz T-Mo will be using is this one (B12). The 700MHz the current devices support is B17 so those won't work. B12 does include B17 but not vice versa.

hmmm seems this article isn't really new news. It's just reiterating the purchase that they made in january. Which has already been heavily talked about.

More along the lines of confirmation.. Like we all knew that the merger was going to happen until those first couple of weeks of April and things started to not look so solid. We don't know who will do what and when.

Quick question since we are getting this from Verizon is there a chance the droid DNA could pick it up once its out on T-Mobile

When do we seen these new band be implemented?

Beginning later this year, probably finishing in 2015.

Posted April 2014:

Deploying 4G LTE in 700 MHz will be fantastic news for T-Mobile customers. And we already have plans in motion to roll out service quickly. We anticipate customers will begin reaping the benefits as early as the end of this year.

As of today, T-Mobile has closed the deal we announced in January to acquire low-band 700 MHz A-Block spectrum. This will allow us to improve coverage and reliability for 158 million Americans in 9 of the top 10 and 21 of the top 30 metro areas across the nation with 4G LTE
