Few Questions About LTE?

Hello,

I just have a few questions about LTE (please elaborate, too, if you can):

1) Will phones that top out at HSPA+ still connect to and use HSPA+ through the long-term future?

2) Will phones that top out at LTE still connect to and use LTE when LTE-Advanced becomes available?

3) Will phones that top out at LTE be able to connect to and use LTE-Advanced when it becomes available?

4) How many years away is LTE-Advanced from becoming available?

5) Would HSPA+ be usable while on vacation in international countries like China, South Korea, or Japan when LTE obviously dominates and saturates over there?

Thank you

1) yes, depending on what you mean by long term: obviously, they can only use HSPA+ while the networks support it

2) Most probably

3) Most probably not

4) Depends, but given the fact LTE is still being rolled out, my guess is it will be quite some time.

5) Depends. HSPA+ will probably remain available for some time on some networks.
