file and memory clean up

I found a few apps to help clean up things but I have some questions. One option is to clear contact memory. Does the delete my contacts. Is it safe to clean memory and cache for everything?

I have the Motorola Droid Mini and the app that seems to be well liked that I am using is the cleaner. I thought it was strange that my contacts had 23MB that could be cleared in memory. My other question is can I just let it clear eveything and only have the apps take longer to load the first time. Or... am I going to loose data and settings etc?

It's very powerful,So you have to be careful with it.

sd maid pro for the win.

well worth the money for the paid version. comes with a scheduler, where i have it set to clean out junk every 3 days. contacts are not affected.
