File downloads - unsuccessful!

[Android Question]

Since doing the most recent (automatic) software update on my galaxy s2 I am unable to download files through the internet browser (mainly pdf)
I assume there is something in the settings I need to change, but I can't work it out!
Please help?

Unfortunately this is a fairly common problem among Android phones, as it happened to me numerous times. There are a few options to fix it.

1.) You can try to downgrade your phone using an "Unbrick" guide to reinstall the firmware you used to have on your phone. This can be tricky, and as a beginner, I would advise AGAINST it.
2.) Search the Play Store for "Download Manager" and find one that suits your needs. Most run in the background, and will automatically open when you attempt to download a file. Others contain a web browser built in. Use that browser whenever you want to download a file, and the manager will handle downloading the file for you, and it will no longer fail.
