Help File storage on ICS RAZR

Jon Davis

Well-Known Member
I am trying to understand the way ics stores files etc.
I understand why internal storage has an SD Card folder. (for devices that don't have a physical SD Card).
I have all my apps (where possible) stored on my physical SD card. But what about the data files associated with the apps? That is the most important part. I can always replace the apps.
It seems as though I can't copy data from internal storage to drop box or Google drive. Should I be able to copy from internal storage?
Sure would appreciate feedback from someone knowledgeable.

Not all apps are smart enough to look/ask for storage preferance. 'Old' ones will still use 'SD card', while the newer ones will recognize 'SD card-extra' as the removable media. Just an ICS annoyance for now. Just make a copy of SDcard on the -ext. Program info shouldn't take up too much room.

Not that it matters, but I believe the "ext" is short for "external".

So, should I delete SDCARD In internal memory after creating it on SDCARD-EXT?
And copying all files from one to the other?
