File type not supported

All of a sudden I can not open normal word documents attached to my mail.....File type not supported.
 
What app did you previously open them with?

And which "normal Word document" formats are you having problems with (docx? doc?).
 
Yeah, I'm pretty certain that Messenger cannot read Word files. It might pass them to a different app to open them, so if you've removed that app it would explain your problem.

I think there's some confusion here. :)

The OP--who asked his question in 2013--had the "normal word documents" problem. Then another person replied--6 years later--with a cryptic [non-]question.
