Help Fingerprint Sensor

My s6 edge fingerprint sensor was brilliant.. unlocked all registered finger prints at various angles no problem.. until recently. Its started coming up no match 90% of the time for all registered prints and even gets to backup password prompt most of the time. Rescanned my fingerprints and cleaned the button but nothings worked.. still only letting me unlock on the odd occasion. HELP!

Try this. Go into Fingerprints and remove all the saved fingerprints and only create one set of prints (Fingerprint 1). Now try it again. Too many fingerprints does not help.

Tried and no joy.. still only letting me in every so often.. its strange.. worked fine and its not as if ive got new fingerprints!:(:(:(:(

I just experienced the same thing. I went in with the back up password...unselected the standard s6 weatherwidget to show on lockscreen and took the charger out. Then normally restarted the phone and all was fine.

It happend when I have putten the weather widget on a home screen and in settings selected it to show in lockscreen. This was already standard selected. But on my lockscreen I already had a weather background and clock enabled.
So think that was the problem. No need to install new prints...all work fine still.

So think the double clock-weather things could not be shown together with the standard widget on lockscreen and caused the error.

My fingerprint unlock is also erratic. It takes a few tries to get it to unlock the phone.
I've tried deleting the fingerprint and recreate it many times and still have the problem,

Under security settings I've already disabled dual clock.
Am I correct that you tap your finger on the sensor and not swipe it to unlock?

I use my Left Thump print. Could that be the problem?
Although I've tried my finger too and it was the same result.

This feature is too unreliable to be any use.

Problem solved here. So far so good. No on s6 no swiping just touch.
It wasn't the dual clock it was the standard weather widget I placed on my homescreen and wich was set to show on lockscreen. Once disabled al works great again.
On my lockscreen I have and had the standard weather background.

I don't understand what a weather widget has to do with fingerprint sensor? Seems like it may have been a coincidence unless you can replicate breaking it on purpose. I have had the default weather widget on my homescreen and lockscreen since day one and never had a problem. Curious to hear more.

Rob don't know either. Still have the weather background wallpaper. Still have that. And clock showing on lockscreen but when I activated weather widget on home an because that wad set to show on lockscreen also it happened. When choose option to not show on lockscreen and restarted the phone as normal all works fine and still. Try back again in half an our have to take husband to work now.

Really it was then when it happend. Tried 2 Times again and nothing happened... there must bu a link somewhere. Well maybe it helps the topicstarter.

Depends on the angle of your finger, also if you have sweaty or wet hands it is best for hands to be dry when using touch screen devices.

Mine used to be good but has been acting eratic recently. Used to be good but recently you have to play with moving your finger around before it works and sometimes it take many tries before it works.
