firefox broken

Hi,
Several problems have appeared since this week, ebay no longer works cannot click anything and it says page not redirecting properly, usually caused by rejecting cookies or beeing blocked.
Youtube i can no longer listen to it whilst multi tasking . It just quits.
I am not very happy about this.
What can i do about this .
Is there anyone who is in the know...

Phone is at 5.1.1 upto date.
Its driving me insane waiting for it to load all the time any browser is the same also.

You probably have a cached page with an invalid URL. Before doing the full factory reset, try the least effort solution first.

Got to settings>apps>firefox and clear the cache (and data, but this will also wipe out any saved credentials)

Reboot your Phone.

Uninstall firefox, then reboot your phone and reinstall it.

Boot into recovery and clear the system cache.

Finally, if none of that works, then you could factory reset.


Or ... use a different browser?

I have done everything apart from factory reset the fone,,
Now puffin browser now works on ebay but keeps saying im in america even thou in uk.
Firefox ive gone back to 51 and it works on youtube in the background can now multitask again but it still has redirection issues on ebay,
Is this a virus or my isp blocking cookies,
Very strange it is.

I'd factory reset the phone and reinstall latest Firefox. If you still have redirect problems with EBay, try Chrome or Opera Touch. EBay works properly in both of those. I believe that Puffin thinks you're in the US because it works in the cloud behind the scenes, and it's servers are in America.

It most likely will clear all your personal data, but you should be backing that up anyway. Maybe this is karma tapping you on the shoulder? ;)
 
i backed it all up to googles servers last time and well, upon restore there was nothing there, good modern tech.
chrome works a treat thou. for now i think it is solved
i will back up the phone and reset it when i figue an app out for transfer as usb port is no longer functioning
 
If you're referring to the Google "Backup apps and settings" feature, that doesn't back up any data, just settings. I just outlined a comprehensive backup scenario in this thread.
