FireFox Browser

I have downloaded it 2times now. Its a nice option to save on SD card. Here's the thing: It fc'd twice, and completely slowed my phone to where it thought my D1 "froze ". My phone eventually snapped out of it. Anyone experiencing these atrocities? I really want to use it, cause I use it on my laptop. Love all the features of FF but seems like it is too "rich" for my D1. Help with thoughts or ideas on it.
Thnx.

If you mean Mozilla's Fennec browser, the Droid is pretty weak and probably won't be able to run it at full-speed, not to mention that it's currently in alpha.

From what I can tell based on a very small amount of Google searches, Fennec simply seems to be the codename for Firefox Mobile.

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser - Android app on AppBrain

Yeah, I think they are interchangeable terms.
Anyway, I did try it and it doesn't work well on a Droid. Slow as hell and locks everything up. I hope it gets better (or supported) or that Chrome gets up and running for mobile. I use both on my laptop and would love to use at least one on my phone.

I too can't wait for chrome for mobile. I also use two of them on laptop. One is better than other for "certain" things. Thanks to you too for helping out.

Do you guys think that Google would release Chrome for android instead of just focusing on their native broswer? It seems unlikely to me.

Supposedly what we're going to see a few years down the road is a convergence of Android and Chrome OS into one OS as hardware gets more powerful. I've heard this from a few places a while back, but don't have any sources to cite right now, so take it with a grain of salt.

Well, it looks like the browser on Honeycomb (at least the tablet version) is very "Chrome" like in that it has similar looking tabs. When they loaded up the emulator in a more phone friendly size however, I believe it lost that functionality.
