Root first smartphone, need to root

i just bought a samsung exhibit 2, and cant stand all the crap that is pre-installed...
how do i root this phone, what apps, etc..

I rooted mine using the zergrush root guide on this forum and bought titanium backup to freeze all the junk. I haven't deleted any of it yet. I am hoping there will be a rom I can install to get rid of the samsung apps and get back the Google ones.
