First Time Android user... somewhat intimidated, lol

So i made the switch from iOs and the iPhone to a new Galaxy Note 5. It came today and am looking for some advice. What are the first few things (besides obviously charging and activating) that you all do with a new android advice. Any tips you can share with the android newbie and more specifically Note newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Go through all of the settings and app settings to see what the phone can do.
Don't change too many things at one time because if a change has an adverse affect you won't know which change is the cause.

Once you gain knowledge of the device you can go into the app manager and disable app you won't use.

Then you can start installing apps that you want.
