Fitting a new case - !@#$#@$%^$%^&

I have 3 cases for my Note 4, the original Speck Candy-Shell Grip case that I had for my 1st Note 4 and it was fitted on 18 months ago or there abouts.... only remember that it was hard to get on.

Then that phone bit the dirt, and I replaced it with another one.

I could NOT get the original case to fit, so, I just assumed that when I left it on the dash of the truck and the phone died from a heat stroke, that the case shrunk.

so, I ordered another case just like it.... argh!!! it won't fit either.

so, I ordered and just received a different brand polypropylene case, "soft and flexible it says"....

I have been poking holes in my fingers with a 1/32 inch screwdriver tip, trying to use that to coerce the damn case to slip up over the sides of the phone. it might be soft, but it is tighter than Dick's Hat Band

I am about to just put 13 layers of cellophane tape on the damn thing and call it a day.
every time I drop the thing, the case back and battery take off in different directions.
 
Still working with it, I can get one side of the case up over the side of the phone, but not the other side....
the cases just simply are not made deep enough for the phone to nestle down into the case.

Already tried that, with the two Speck cases: soaked it in boiling water for a few minutes, had to use a rag to put it on.....

still won't fit where it belongs, the sides are too short to make it up and over the edge and stay there.

I can push on the edges of the case and make one side fit, or even both sides fit at the pressure points....
actually got all four corners to fit and it is staying on pretty good.

used it for about two hours, and then I realized two things real quick.

the charging port is half covered because the case does not go up and over the edge of the phone.........

then, I realized that the Audio Recorder won't work in Conference Mode...... this is where there is a circle showing you which of the 8 microphones are recording audio ( real mics, or just software showing where the speakers are in the room ) .... This is Extremely Important, as I use it to record what the doctors and staff are saying about my wife's health issues at the hospital. How it works, I don't care, because it never misses what anyone is saying, no matter where they are.

F'k the damn thing, took it off and Deep Sixed it.

I have the original flat folder case with a magnetic latch, that came with it, and it does fit.... not used to using those things at all, but at least everything works.
 
Hi,

At the risk of patronizing you, did you try to fit the case without the back cover of the phone attached? Also, did you compare the shape and size of the old phone with the one you bought? I would be highly surprised if they were different, but perhaps the developer version is a bit thicker.

Did you try contacting the supplier? Perhaps they may have more of an idea than this Scotsman ;)

Buy a soft (and cheap) gel case on Ebay, made for the Note 4.....worked great for me and the wifey.
