Fix home screen redraw lag in ADW Launcher

nzr

Newbie
Sorry if there is already another thread for this but i could not find the solution i am looking for when searching so..

With ADW Launcher there is sometimes a long redraw lag when going back to your home screen from another app. You expect to see your icons and widgets but instead you are there with an empty screen containing only your dock and wallpaper. From what i have researched is this problem seems to occur most often after returning from an app that uses a lot of memory and one the of solutions is to have your launcher to stay in memory.
There are couple of ideas with rooted phone to do that but none with non-rooted ones.
Is there a way to fix this issue for non-rooted phone?

Thanks!

Try ADWSettings>General Behavior>System Preferences and check the box for System Persistent.

You are going to have some lag if you have a lot on your homescreens. I have found that lp is far quicker though. Personal preference only.

No I am not rooted. There were couple of examples for rooted phone, basically to store your home app in the memory i guess

yep...exactly. i remember seeing something about that while ago

Yeah, but I haven't found for unrooted.
BabyBlues: I've only 4 home screens and 3 of them just has widgets running so I don't think that's causing it. It's usually when you run an app that uses lot of memory (maps or some games for e.g.) and when you hit home, there is a lag. Its little annoying.
Anyways, I will keep searching, hopefully will find some workaround for it.

I have this same exact problem and it is killing me. My phone is rooted and I saw a fix for it but didn't quite understand it. Something about in a terminal to type in a code line. If anyone could clarify the solution I would greatly appreciate it.
