Help Fix or buy new?

Hey guys, well long story short I took a fall down a set of stairs today and landed on my hip, where my phone happened to be and it bent. Yes, the phone actually bent like a banana (not far, only 2-3 mm each side). My battery was completely crumpled, so when the phone wouldn't fire up I assumed it was a battery problem, so I tried my friends battery (he also owns a galaxy ace) and it still refused to boot.

I plugged into a power outlet and tried to boot, still no success. I plugged the USB cable into my computer and it failed to recognize a device at all.

The LCD (Not sure if that's actually what it is, but the actual screen) and the glass over it appear to be completely intact. I can't find any traces of cracks or anything of the sort, and I have taken a very careful look at it with a torch and it still appears perfectly fine.

I guess you could say I have two questions;

1.) What could the problem be? Something screen related or an issue with the logic board?

2.) Assuming we can find the problem, would it be better to fix the device or simply purchase another?

I am a fan of my phone, I don't really want to be purchasing something more expensive, so if I have to buy again I'll possibly buy the same phone.

Thanks guys.

With that level of physical damage I am not sure if its worth repairing & especially its durability in the long run. I would suggest buying a new piece. Check out the Ace plus or Ace 2 if its available in your area.

Thank you for your answer. I'm going to purchase another galaxy ace tonight, I can't be bothered going through repair processes and I'm definitely not going to go sending my phone back to samsung.

Going to try and claim it on Home and Contents insurance.
