I apologize for another thread, but here is the situation. My original phone doesn't read sim card anymore. So I buy a used s4 off classified site. Everything seemed fine until I made a call, just to realize no one can hear me and I cant hear them. the 2nd phone will play sound, record a voice memo. google now works with mic. So after stomping my feet, for losing money on a bad phone, I decided to interchange the sim card reader to get original phone back working. After switching the sim reader to both phones, original phone still doesn't detect sim card and 2nd phone works with carrier. So card reader wasn't my problem. grrr
Q1: (phone 1)Since card reader wasn't a problem, how do I fix this. Seems to be a software issue.
----yes I did factory reset.----locked to carrier---currently 5.0.2 lollipop was 4.4.2 kitkat
--used to get sim card not detected restart phone but now will not read a sim card

phone 2)Since everything works sound wise and mic wise except in calls. Using speakerphone doesn't work, but if I use Bluetooth it works. Hmmm. Seems like phone app is acting up. How do I fix this?
---yes factory reset----currently lollipop 5.0.2---unlocked
---sim card worked in phone 2
