Fix wifi hotspot not connecting to windows 10 laptop (boost mobile)

probably wrong but despite what it says may need to be rooted.....Iused to use this on my rooted lj volt but cant get it to work on non rooted j7

Wish we had root for this phone
 
well doing something wrong ..dont know what...also boost mobile j7.....I can tether to pc via usb but not wifi.....do I need to have purchased hotspot coverage.....
 
I have the unlimited data for $55 a month with auto reboost discount of $5 a month so for $50 a month... i havent tried this on plans that dont have a wifi hotspot subscription. It says you dont need a hotspot subscription.. my $50 a month plan comes with 10gb of hotspot data but im pretty sure foxfi doesnt actually use youre plans data... havent tried the Bluetooth tethering but it should work as well..

My laptop is connected via wifi hotspot through foxfi.
 
I have family plan but no hotspot coverage.....thats probably why it doesnt work
 
Could be.. hard to say cause foxfi been around forever it seems like.. i would think it would atleast turn the hotspot feature on but you may actually need a plan that supports hotspot..
 
Usb tethering works you need pda net installed on youre computer and use it to connect youre laptop to youre phone. Couldnt get bluetooth on cause the settings are set to dun for bluetooth tethering.
