Flash - Am I Missing Something?

On all the ads and blurb for the HTC Hero, its proudly announced that the device has a flash player.
Going through the list of files (via Astro) there is indeed a file named 'HTCflashplayer'.
So what exactly is this flash-player for?
Does it need to be extracted and launched somehow?
Because it sure as hell doesnt play much flash!

I assume that particular player is only for youtube videos. Even though you can't generally play flash videos on the Hero, you can watch videos on youtube.
