Help Flashing problems

Hello everyone! I'm new here, so sorry if it goes for the wrong topic.

I've got a problem with my new phone. I am currently living in China, I needed a new phone, so I've purchased a Galaxy Grand here. What I didn't expect is the phone is missing the usual google apps... (I know I should have done a research before) And although it has English languag, but still, it's not my native, and I am emailing and chatting with my relatives quite often, and it lacks a lot of characters from our language.

I used Odin before (I rooted my old phone, and then changed to stock ROM on my desktop back at home, without any problems), so long story short, I decided to flash it, using my country's stock rom.

I installed Kies mini. It did not recognize the phone, and a certain CDC serial wasn't installed. I googled it, downloaded the recommended USB driver, installed, and still nothing at Kies. Rebooted phone, rebooted notebook, USB debugging on, off, on again, also tried all USB prots. Nada. However I tried to continue with Odin (in download mode, of course), and nothing. I tried both 3.07 and 3.09.

Uninstalled Kies, tried to download the newest one, but I couldn't install it (error 1152), downloaded from many sources, all the same. Meanwhile I found a no-name driver, supposed to be good for my device, and it solved the missing driver problem, then it turned out it was for a different brand, so it was no use (the phone still didn't showed up in Kies, neither in Odin), so I uninstalled it. Then I downloaded Kies 2.1.1, successfully installed, but got the same result (tried reboot everything again). I updated Kies (both to 2.6.3 and 3.2), still nothing.

I tried to use my flatmate's notebook that has Windows XP and Mobogenie, but.... you know.

I am using Windows 7 x86, and the system is up to date. I tried to set the connection from mass storage to MTP and PTP, but while I could access to the device and the memory card through my browser after turning on USB storage, the latter to did not work at all (although they installed themselves without a problem).

Any ideas what should I do? I'm spending all my time solving this for the last three days, and now I am desperate!

Hi Sinderella86, and welcome to Android Forums :)

I've moved your post into the forum specific for the Galaxy Grand, where I hope other users will be able to assist you better.

In the meantime, have you tried checking here for the latest firmware for your device? Firmwares | SamMobile

I think it even includes links to download working copies of Kies/ODIN, and also has instructions for flashing the updates.

And, as much as I hate to steer folks away from our boards, they also have a good dedicated support forum just for issues with flashing/updating your particular device: Samsung GALAXY Grand

I hope this can be helpful for you :)

Thanks, I tried, but still no progress. I'm still struggling. I just don't know what the problem is...

I think ur Samsung is not an original one.... It must be a copy, a korean Copy.. That is y even KIES is not able to detect ur phone... Please check ur fone with the service centre or samsung Gallery...
