So I just order an Sprint Optimus G LS970 from eBay that has a bad ESN. I have a working phone on the metroPCS network that is tied with an LG Beacon that has a good ESN. I plan to use it as a donor phone by taking the ESN from the LG Beacon and writing it to the Optimus G LS970.
Will this be possible?

What is the best way to go about this?

Since the bad ESN was with Sprint, would I even need to clone the ESN or could I just dial *228 to get the phone automatically programmed?

Welcome copitlory to AF!
Nothing personal, but we do not discuss bad ESN's here or how to do anything with them.

A cell phone can have a bad ESN/MEID/IMEI number for one of 3 reasons:

The phone was reported lost or stolen in the past.
The phone is still active on the owner's wireless carrier account.
There is money owed on the wireless carrier account to which the ESN/MEID/IMEI is connected

If you have any questions, please feel free to p.m. me o.k.? My door is always open :)
