Apps Flipping Camera Input for other apps

2 quick questions:

Is it possible to create an app that would run in the background and flip the camera input before it is read in by other 3rd party apps?

Also, would this be as difficult and processor intensive as it seems to be?

Try saving the camera image as a mutable bitmap, rotate it and then send it on. The way android works is that even if multiple calls to a resource drawable are made to create bitmaps, once a modification has been made to it, the change is done to the drawable resource or any saved bitmap. Android does have access to photoshop API. Downside to this is that you cannot modify the intent/activity for the photoshop API.
