FM Radio App that support wav recording

Hi, thought this would have been a simple find, but my google searches continually result in spammy websites and other off topic garbage. I'm just looking for an FM Radio app that has a recording function built in that can record in wav.

I currently have an FM radio app on my phone that records, but it's only mp3, and even with that, the files have been recorded in some secret location, searching the phones entire directory structure has not resulted in locating where such recordings are.

I'm pretty sure that no such app exists that does that. Maybe one could be written, but you'd need to find a willing and capable dev.

Recording songs from the radio to a cassette, is what I did when was a kid in the 70s, this would sort be the smart-phone equivalent of that.

Yep, I did the same in the early to mid 80s, remember using tons of Maxell and TDK tapes. Now it's not so much for music, but when major news events happen, I would like to record the coverage for archiving. I've always recorded news casts; still have some tapes of radio news from when the first space shuttle blew up in 1986, and australia's bicentennial celebrations in 1988.

This is easy stuff to do on a computer, but would be nice if I can do this on the go on my mobile, news breaks even when one is not at home.
