Phone came new out of the box. Do not use is for images but write to see how this could be addressed.

That looks like it's a closeup shot of some display. Depending on whatever phone it is, you may need to manually activate macro mode in the camera for closeups. Consult the user guide for exact details on how to do this.

So are we looking at a photo that you took with the phone?
I agree with mikedt as it looks to be taken at close range .
How does a regular photo come out?
