Folders

E10 tablet running Android 8.1. I cannot create folders for the apps. I have tried overlaying two apps as normal but folder does not create. Tablet was supplied with two folders installed for Google and MS apps so folders do exist!

Anyone got any ideas?

Where are you trying to create these folders ??, and have you tried using a File Explorer app to do so ??

Only the app itself creates its own folders, you can create any folders you want but they will not be linked to the app. Home page, you mean home screen? That's a virtual destination on Android, so if you delete it, it's gone forever, and also not seen by a file explorer.

Trying to create folder for associated apps on the home page. That is not a system folder.

Your tablet's Home screen is not a folder, it's a graphical representation of a 'desktop'. If you want to nest different app icons into one icon, try drag-and-dropping one icon on top of another. That should result in a single icon that shows tiny versions of those icons inside it.
Otherwise, when you're using a file manager app, or using the Settings >> Storage menu, to make new folders or other such file/folder management tasks keep in mind there are restrictions put in place as to where you have full access to. A lot of those restrictions are intended to keep users from messing up/bricking their devices,
